Word 2003 sp1 Sends Attachment as Works documents

If anyone can help me out there. I have Office 2003 sp1
installed on a
machine. When this user sends a document out of Word as
an attachment. It
attaches the document as a wps Document. How do I change
this so it sends it
as a doc document by default? I have made sure that in
tools options and on
the save tab says Word Document.
