I have created and distributed for many years a complicated Word
template to our branch offices and placed it on the internet for
distribution to outside clients.
The outside clients create documents from the template (which is
located in their "User" or "Workgroup" file locations), save the "doc"
file, and e-mail it to the branch offices.
Historically, when the branch office receives the "doc" file, they
saved the file and then opened the file and Word automatically located
the matching template in our branch office system, which is located in
"Workgroup".
Word 2003 seems not to locate the template and reconnect the document
so that edits can be made.
I believe there is a problem with the registry, in that our version of
Word
2003 was set up with "defaults" before deploying. A "program" was
used to change defaults in the "image."
Can you help with a solution to this problem? There is already a
"macro" to reconnect, but it fails, as well as it looks for templates
in "File Locations."
