Word 2003 won't remember return address

Every few days I lose the default return address for my envelopes. I retype
it and say Yes when Word asks if I want to save it as the default return
address. But, a few days later, it is blank again. Why will Word not
remember this setting?

Try Options => User Settings and put it there. Otherwise, I have several
return addresses depending on the reason I'm writing. I never use the return
address setting in the envelopes but instead use an AutoText entry named
EnvelopeExtra1. This lets me put the return address in a text box, have the
lines centered as to each other, and have a bold main line in a larger font
size. This last thing can't be done with the built-in return address
function. See Graham Mayor's site for details on that.
http://www.gmayor.com/changing_envelope_layout.htm The AutoText entry has to
be stored in a global template or in the document template that you are
using. (Storing it in the document template is what lets me use different
return addresses for different tasks.)

Otherwise, you may have a corrupt data key in your registry.
