Word as the default editor

I am using Word 2000 and Outlook 2000 and want to send e-
mail from within Word. WhenI try to set up the options in
Outlook 2000, I am un able to check the box next to the
option that will allow me to use Word as my default
editor. The option is grayed out and I am not sure where
to look for a way around this. Can anyone offer me some
thoughts?

Is all of this under Office 2000? Recheck your versions as Outlook and Word
must be the same version and should work. Is the Word 2000 from Works or
Office?
