Word Documents from CD

I have a CD that I saved all my files on from my old computer using an older
version of Word. I now have a new computer with Word and it won't recognize
any files on that CD.

Don't try to open the files from the CD (which is read-only, so Word can't
create the temp files it needs to create in order to open a document). Copy
them to your HD first, then open them from there. Note that files copied
from a CD will be read-only; you'll need to select them in Explorer,
right-click, choose Properties, and clear the Read Only check box.
