Word empties my clipboard when opening

I use the Office 2000 professional programs. I have an access database which posts my user name to the clipboard at the sign in. We use this to place the user name on the documents in the database. When I try to open a new or existing word document it erases what is on the clipboard. Therefore the user name is lost in the database and I must resign in. I am able to use other programs. Word seems to be the only problem. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program but that did not help.

Clearing the Clipboard on starting Word is one of the nasty habits of the
Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word. If Works Suite is not possible as a
factor in your problem, it could still be caused by some other Word add-in.
Try moving add-ins out of Word's Startup folder one by one till you find the
culprit.
