I emailed this list a few months ago w/ this problem, and my OE, which
handles my news groups, auto-purged the reply. Sorry for the repost.
Here's my problem: Like so many others who have Outlook 2002 w/ all the
security patches, when I try to open a Word or Excel document directly from
an email, I am prompted to save it to disk first. (I have already performed
the registry edit to at least get me this far instead of having the file
stripped from the email.) This is SUCH a pain and time consumer. I have
great spam and anti-virus software. I am smart enough to open only the
attached documents that I know of and/or am expecting.
I am looking for some setting that I can change that will allow me to
override this security "feature". Has anyone found a work-around for this?
