Been having this problem at least a month. Been tracking and searching all postings for solution, haven't found one that has worked
I'm on a 5 client network. OS is Windows 2000, Office is XP, Antivirus is Symantec CE. All word and excel documents open very slowly (20-30 seconds) on my workstation (administrator account), but not on any of the other client accounts. If I open word or excel before trying to open a document, there is NO delay when using the drop-down menu or drag and drop. However, if I double click a document icon in a folder, on the desktop or as an outlook email attachment, the document opens very slowly. This all started about a month ago very suddenly. At that time I was running Office 2000 - since the change to Office XP a day ago, there appear to be no diffences - the problem still exists. Very frustrating - any ideas to solve will be greatly appreciated
