Word HTML Emails Send Graphics as Attachments

S

Steve S.

I'm using Word to put together a newsletter that will get sent out as a HTML
email. During testing I have found that a recipient using Outlook sees it
as intended (formatting and graphics look great). A user viewing the same
email using a service such as Hotmail also sees the HTML email as intended.
However, in Hotmail any graphics that were included in the message also show
up as attachments. Is there a way to prevent the graphics from also being
sent out as attachments?

Thanks!!!

Certainly not a Word issue. But it is probably a security setting on the
Hotmail account.

You have no control whatsoever over how a recipient views your e-mail
(thankfully). Many users will have the mail readers set to read only plain
text. The only way to ensure your newsletter is viewed as you intended is to
send it as an attachment in pdf format for which you'll need extra software.
