Word is too specific on numbering lists

Many times, I am making a numbered list and I have it formatted a certain
way, then Word comes in and thinks that it knows what I want, but it isn't -
kind of.
I want Word to make a numbered list for me, but not the same exact way that
it does it every time. It always indents the numbers, and it doesn't allow
some lines to be numbered while others are not. Can't Word just realize that
I am making anumbered list and ask me how I would like it? Or at least have
more than one way to choose how to number your list. Perhaps a little
formatting option that lets you create your own style of numbering and then
you can schoose out of some selected formats that you have created?

Try going to Format | Bullets and Numbering and I think you'll find the
"little formatting option" that you are looking for. One tab is for bulleted
lists and the other is for numbered lists.

Good luck!

I forgot to mention to hit the Customize button if the formatting you wish
isn't listed. That is where you can create a custom format to your list.

Good luck
