Word Macros Missing

S

Stephen M

I have Office XP SBE installed on my machine. I recently installed Outlook
2003 to run with our exchange server. Since I installed Outlook 2003, my
macros and autocorrect addins are missing. It is like I never entered any
macros. I do not care about having Outlook 2003. I just need all my macros.
Is there a way to restore these macros after the Outlook 2003 installation?

Where were your macros stored? Unless you specified otherwise they are
stored in Normal.dot. This global template is found in the same
location as your User Templates. Chances are this location was
modified when you installed Outlook 2003 and another Normal.dot was
created.

Use Windows Search and see if you have more than one Normal.dot
available. For those you find, open it and see if your macros are
present. Then either move the template to your User Templates folder
or point your User Templates folder to the same location as the
modified Normal.dot.

You can find the location of your User Templates folder in Word under
Tools/Options/File Locations.
