word picture is not visible or printable in Word 2002 (Office XP)

I use word picture (Word 2000 and older versions) to draw simple figures in my
documents. I started using Word 2002 recently. I can see and print figures I
insert
from files.

When inserting MS word pictures (Insert/Object/Microsoft Word Picture),
I am able to draw them, but I can not either see or print it. The figure
placeholder
is in the document. I can still edit it (click twice over the placeholder),
and it is
saved with the document.

The problem is the same in powerpoint.

Hi Luiz-

Try Tools>Options and on the View page make sure there is no check for
Picture Placeholders, on the Print page make sure there _is_ a check on
Drawing Objects.

Hi CyberTaz,

Those options (Pictures Placeholders and print drawing objects) are already
the way you suggested. Figures inserted from files are visible on screen and
correctly printed. The problem I have is with figures created from word
picture (menu Insert/Object/Word Picture).

Thanks for the reply

Hi Suzanne,

That option is set. The option settings affect all pictures. I only have
problem with the ones generated using "word picture".

Thanks

Luiz
