Word Problem

Every time I open Word I get a document that I wrote many months ago instead
of a blank page. Even reloading the program did not kill that page. Any ideas
how to do this?
Thanks,
George

Hi Jay:
I tried your suggestion and I was told after following the instructions that
normal.dot was not accessible. This seems a real throny problem.

Thanks,
George

Are you on a network where Normal.dot is protected? If so, I'm at a loss to
understand how it got corrupted.

It could be that your normal.dot file is locked. When you did a search for
"normal.dot", did you also find a file called "~$normal.dot"? If so, delete
this file and try it again. Also keep in mind that normal.dot file is
opened every time Word is open so you must make sure Word is closed before
trying this.

Holler back if you still have problems.

To add to what Bill said, if you're using Word as your Outlook editor,
you'll need to shut down Outlook as well.
