Word "Quits Unexpectedly"

I installed word x on a new emac g4 1ghz ram.
I went to mactopia to download service release 1 to "fix the problem".
I went to install SR1 and got a message "the default location required
for this install could not be found. This install will be cancelled."
What sould I do??

Hi,

FIrst you should directly use the 10.1.2 updater (which includes the
SR-1 update). Then I suspect the problem you have might be realted to a
Permissions issue on your hard drive. You should use the DiskUtility (in
MacOS X 10.2.6) to select your boot volume and repair permissions. Even
though it is not an absolute requirement in all cases, I'd suggest that
you'd restart the Mac once the permissions have been repaired. Then you
should try again with the 10.1.2 updater.
