Word should improve the pasting of text boxes and autoshapes.

I use drawing objects in Word a lot. It's frustrating that, when I copy a
text box or other drawing object, and try to paste it precisely in the spot
where I want it, it doesn't appear there. I have to scroll up and down the
document to find where the object pasted.

I know I can use Control to drag and copy and paste, but sometimes that's
not practical, because the spot where I need to paste the object is far away
from the object I'm copying. Sometimes dragging the object up several pages
or more causes Word to cancel the operation.

Yes, it's annoying Mary. After you move to the new location, are you placing
your cursor there? You must click on the new location, and THEN paste. This
can usually get you much closer. Also, try these other tips:
