Word suggests I open docs as Read-Only

When I try to open a document Word says "...should be
opened as read-only unless changes to it need to be
saved. Open as read-only?"

This has just started happening. What is causing this and
how do I stop it?

Tools|Options|Security Read-Only Recommended check box needs to be cleared.
