Word to Publisher

I have imported a 170-page Word document (mainly tables and text) into
Publisher. I have tried to format the Publisher document and encountered
several issues:

1. Is there any way I can format the size of all the tables or format the
text in the tables with one click (of a few clicks)?
2. What's the purpose of the blue margins box if I can print stuff that is
beyond the margins.
3. What is the equivalent of 1 line spacing of Word in Publisher?
4. I modified the Style I was using for the text, but, the change was not
applied to the text right away ?!?!

Thanks!

1) I doubt that you can size the tables or format the text with just a couple
of clicks. Publisher is PAGE oriented.
2) The blue margin lines are guides and only guides. If you want to print
beyond them, then you should move the guides in the Master Page view to
reflect the margins that you want. Unlike Word, text is only allowed inside
a container (normally a text box); I use the margin guides for placement and
sizing of text boxes and other shapes.
3) Line spacing is usually set by the style.
4) Generally when you change the style and the change does not take place
immediately it is because the text is formatted directly. My usual remedy is
to select the text, clear the formatting and then reapply the style. Another
option that I have used is to discard the source formatting when I originally
paste the text.

Big documents (many pages) can be difficult to handle in Publisher.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding the line spacing issue, I have found that
0.87sp in Publisher is pretty close to 1sp in Word. I am clueless as to why
MS did not have same line spacing in Word and Publisher. Also, the
difference between 0.87sp and 0.85sp is a lot in Publisher. It seems to be a
glitch.
