Word won't open

I hope someone can help me. Last week I clicked on word &
it won't open. When I click on it the screen with
Microsoft Word comes up but the blank screen doesn't. Then
it freezes & I can't get out. I have to shut down, even
Ctr+alt+del doesn't shut it down. I've deleted word &
reinstalled it, still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
