Working with Notes

I know this has been a subject here several times in the past. I did a
search through all the posts but didn't find the info i need. I have setup
Project Server and have published a test project with resources from MS
Project 2002 Pro. I made changes to some of the tasks to trigger a
notification to the resources. Nothing came through.
We use Lotus Notes 6.01 throughout the company. In the admin portion of
Server, under "Customize Microsoft Project Web Access", "Notifications and
Reminders" the mail configuration has the mail server ( lsdom08 ) at port
25. I used my own e-mail address as the "From" address. I put the standard
ending for all mail in this company in the "Company e-mail address".
Are there other settings needed in either Notes or Project Server? This is
all on our intranet, nothing goes out to the web. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Russ:

Does your smtp server require authentication? Are there any errors in the
application log on the Project Server machine

Yes. The server does require authentication. As for the second question, I
don't know how to get to the application log. I have not seen any error
messages pop up when trying to send a notification.
How do I access the application log?

I spoke too soon. The Notes folks here said that we do not have to
authenticate to the server. They are now in the process of adding the IP
address of the Project Server server to the Notes server. I should know in
about an hour if that makes a difference.
Are there any published articles or tech papers that detail the setup for
this type of environment?
Thanks.
