worksheet will not delete

I have a fairly large file with several worksheets in it. For some reason I
can't delete the worksheet(s) that are no longer required. Some of the
worksheets are linked to one nother, could that be a reason or is it
something else. The file itself is not protected.

I believe if the workbook is SHARED (Tools>>>Share Workbook) the sheet
cannot be deleted.
