writing to a subform automatically

Hi all - so I have a bunch of subforms that are opened up all at the
same time when the main form is opened. Each subform has a bunch of
fields and each field has default values. How do I make it so that when
ever I add a new record, the subforms register their entries in the
appropriate table even when I have not modified anything on the subform.

In other words: the main form has a bunch of tabs. I may not click on
certain tabs for a record, but I still want the default values to be
recorded.

So I re-read my post and it may not be clear. How do I save all the
subforms when I press the save button that is on the main form?
