Wrong duration - work calculation

N

I have 7,5 hours standard working day, 7,5 work to do, one man on job and I
get 1,95 days in duration. It's getting me mad, what do I do wrong?

Thanks a lot if someone can guess what's wrong....

natash,
Guessing what's wrong is a good way to put it. There are several things
that must be set up in coordination to get what you intend. They are:
1. The project calendar (Tools/Change Working Time) must be set for 7.5
hours for each calendar day. For example, the hours might be 8:00 to
12:00 and 1:00 to 4:30
2. The resource must NOT have his own custom calendar that is different.
Note, the default is that the resource uses the project calendar so
unless you customized the resource's calendar, this won't be an issue.
3. The "hours per day" (Tools/Options/Calendar tab), which is what
Project uses to calculate duration, must be set for 7.5 hours
4. The resource max units (Resource Sheet) must be at the default value
of "1" (i.e. a full time employee).

Given each of these things, one man working full time on a task with a
work content of 7.5 hours, will take one day duration to complete.

Working Hours.

Hope this helps.
