Wrong Page Numbers in Table of Contents

I have inserted a table of contents into a word doc, but the page numbers in
the TOC begin at 79, not 1. I have checked in the footer throughout the doc
that the page numbering is displaying correctly, but the TOC page numbers
won't display correctly. Is there any place where the default page number for
the start of the doc may have been re-set (I inherited the original document
from someone else). This document would have been a chapter in a larger
document.

Try accepting all tracked changes in the document, then update the TOC.
