x of y/ sectionpages problem

J

James McElroy

I've found lots of posts describing the solution to getting a correct Y in
page of y when you have, say, a cover page as your first page (solution:
don't use x of y, use sectionpages field).

But I frequently create documents including:
title page (unnumbered)
tables of contents (numbered using i, ii, iii) [new section]
body (numbered 1, 2, 3) [multiple sections to allow for changing
landscape/portrait mode]

My problem is that I can't automate page x of y.

If I use the X of Y feature, Y includes the title page and tables of
contents.

If I use the sectionpages field, it resets within the body of my document
everytime I change sections.

Is there another solution to this?

Thanks,.
