Yet another resource levelling question!

I've read all the others in the forum, and also the 2 faqs frequently cited.
FAQ 34 helped me to understand one aspect of my issue, but still not
completely clear on this.

I have set up a bunch of recurring tasks. some are 1h long, others 2h long.
They all recur on workdays, sometimes for 5 workdays, sometimes for 10
workdays *

all of these sets of tasks have been assigned a resource (me at 100%). I
did this by clicking the Assign Resources icon, which puts me down as a
resource for each instance of the task, but not the "summary task".

I believe that when specifying the work for the tasks, I have filled in WORK
not DURATION (not sure if this makes a difference). The task are all left
with default settings, e.g. Effort Driven = True, and Fixed Units. All the
recurring tasks get automatically assigned a constraint of type
Start-No-Earlier-Than but I don't think that this should affect Projects
ability to move task forward.

level resources is set to fix up day-by-day. Monday 21st is first day of
project.

Now if I go into Resource Graph, it has me down as 1000% overallocated on
Monday 21st. THIS ONE I DO UNDERSTAND THANKS TO FAQ 34. Basically, in the
first hour of the day, I have 11 tasks overlapping, which means 11hrs of work
in that first hour in theory. In fact of course I have the whole day, so i
can just ignore this, or maybe resolve overallocations hour by hour. Yahoo, I
get it!

However, if I go into Resource Usage, it has me down as doing 16hrs on
Monday 21st July. I'm sure my boss would be happy. But my wife not so much
;) I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT WON'T SHIFT ANY TASKS.

Pls note: i'm using Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003 SP 3.

* by the way, what I'm trying to do here is capture the time taken to
discuss issues and get consensus when working in a global team - time to
write emails, think about proposals, gather consensus &c &c ... takes time.

Thanks for pointing that out. Now, I've selected all tasks in my project,
and set priorty to 500. relevelled. It's helped a little: i now have 14hrs
scheduled for monday. what should I look at next?

Hi,

In the Task Usage view show the field Assignment Units.
There may be some higher than the max units for the resource

Or
Haven't you put those tasks to 100% done? Leveling will not move those
either

Or
There may be 5 or more other reasons. You can send me the file I shall have
a look.
