moving from entourage 2001 to mail.app

Moving from an old OS9.1 entourage 2001 machine (no usb, no firewire,
no OSX) to a newer machine with 10.3/mail.app.

I can network the two computers with a crossover cable and appleshare
IP6.3 on the old machine.

What I've done:

dragged entourage inbox to desktop on old machine. After mounting the
older machines hard drive on the new machine, attempted import from the
newer machine in both mail.app and entourage X and get an error saying
that I don't have a valid classic environment on my new machine.

Any help would be appreciated,

I did some more searching and finally found the answer in a post from
2002. The secret was to put the old office 2001 CD in the new target
computer, which satisfies the condition that entourage X needs in order
to recognize the old inbox folder as an entourage importable format.
