Why Does French Grammar Checker/Thesaurus Show as Required Update?

I do not use the French language for anything.... Why does Office Update
repeatedly show the French Grammar Checker and French Speller checkers as
required updates? I do not want or need any of my documents to be spell
checked using anything other than English (US). In fact, the two KB articles
mentioned, appear to actually cause problems--or at least the possibility
exists.... Is there anything I can do to prevent these two updates from
showing up as being "Required", when I check for updates?

The updates through http://officeupdate.com are intended to keep the entire purchased Office product complete and current, not just
the presently selected features/subset.

French, English and Spanish proofing tools are included
in the Office XP and 2003 product CDs.

To 'hide' any of the recommended updates you can use
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate which provides both Windows and
Office XP/2003 updates, rather than http://officeupdate.com
