2002 crashes when jpg image <1M in presentation

Dumb me updated my 2000 pwrpoint on XP OS- I crash if I
try to save a one page presentation with a 800k image
anyone got any Ideas-used to work in 2000.I have all
updates for OS

Works fine here. What error message are you getting? What symptoms?

Just as a side query, why such a large JPG picture? PowerPoint is usually
limited to screen or projector resolution, so most of the pictures pixels
are going to waste anyway.
