2002 - Weekend Starts forced to Weekdays

Good Morning!

I have a Project in 2002 where I've set the Work Schedule to 24 hours. I've
also opened the Advanced Tab for the task and made sure it's set to 24 hours.
I then try to change the Start Date for the Task and it defaults to Monday
if I try to start it on Sunday. Trying to set it for Saturday defaults it to
Friday.

I figured that there was nothing else to set on the Task to let it allow me
to start on the weekend but there still seems to be something holding it
back. Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance to the Community!

Hi,
I'm afraid you are using a vocabulary of your own, so it's not obvious to
understand what exactly you have done.
1. Is there a task calendar? (that's what you read in Task Information,
advanced, calendar)
2. If yes, does that one have sat-sun as working days?

Both questions will NOT be both yes because if they are your task may start
on Sunday.
I'm not saying WILL because there may be dependencies pushing it forward.

If the replies eare yes, no, change the task calendar

If the replies are no, no,

3. Is there a resoruce attached to the task? If yes, that one should have
sat-sun as working days in its own calendar

If not,

4. Does the project calendar (you will find that one in Project menu,
Project information) have sat-sun as working days?

You see, there is no such thing as "The Work Schedule". Task planning is
primirily influenced by the task calendar and/or the resoruce calendar; if
neither exists on that task, then by the project calendar.
Hope this helps,

Hello Jan,

That was exactly what it was. I had to change the Resource schedules to
allow weekend work and then it works like a champ. Thanks again!
