2007 corrupting 2003

Hi groupies

I have Access 2007 and Access 2003 installed on the same Vista machine. I
need both versions because I am an instructor and will be teaching both
versions this fall.

I have created a number of 2003 databases and have used the switchboard
manager. If I open these databases with 2007, close them without changing
anything and then open them again with 2003, the switchboard blows up with
"On Open .....blah, blah, blah" errors. Basically, the VB self destructs.

If I save them as 2000 - 2003 while in 2007 the switchboards still do not
work.

What's the deal, do I need to recreate all of the switchboards in 2003? What
else is going to blow up?

I blame the parents........

OK, so I uninstalled 2007 and opened one of my databases. 2003 repaired
itself, I compiled, compacted and repaired and tada the database works.

I still have the rest of Office 2007 installed and Jet 4.0 is still the
Vista version .....4.00.9635.0.

So, what's the deal? Any ideas?

I have 97, 2003, and 2007 all on the same XP computer. I've notice no real
problems. I did make sure that each version of Access is in a different
folder. Also Office 2007 would only allow one version of Outlook on the
computer.

I also teach Access and my community college doesn't have books in yet for
2007 nor have they decided if it will be on Vista or XP computers! One more
semester of 2003 on XP would suit me fine.

Hi Jerry

I did have them in separate folders but the gong show could not be avoided
for some reason. Unfortunately, I don't think my XP machine can handle
2007, so I am stuck with putting Vista in the mix.
I think I might try uninstalling 2003, reinstalling 2007 and then
reinstalling 2003. Perhaps then, 2007 will not try to hold hands with 2003.

As an instructor, I am not looking forward to this fall. I don't care what
MS says, the changes in office 2007 are similar to the switch from Windows
3.1 to 95. Mass Panic!
