I'm working with MSP 2003. In several different projects in two different
environments, resources seem to suddenly appear in projects...in one case
32,000 resources named "Unassigned" appeared, and I can't delete them (every
time I try, the computer allocates 100% CPU for this, doesn't respond, and
after 3 hours of waiting I gave up on this.)
In another case, local recourses that are in the resource sheet multiply
several thousand times - in this case I was able to delete them, but they
re-appear on a regular basis. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Did
you find a reason for this behavior? Did you find a way to solve the problem?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Sound like corruption :( You could try the suggestions in FAQ Item: 43.
File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Is there another solution for it ??

Dear Mike:

I have the same problme. My project have 76,000 local resources suddently.
It causes project file open very slow.
(What's happen???)
And my project has published to server and SE had keyin work hours.
So I can't use the solution wich describes on mvps web ( FAQ Item: 43. File
Bloat?)
I was obliged to delete 76,000 local resources and it spent 3 hours.
But I found that there are still 76000 records in msp_resource_rates table.
How to delete those record??
Thanks!!

Hi,

I think the administrator will need to run some database clean actions from
Project Web Access.
