I want to create 600 dpi JPEG logos in CMYK format in
Photoshop. Problem is they display a box with a red X in
word when I try and bring them in. RGB files work fine. Any
idea what I can do to fix this?

Hi Martin,

MS Office does not support CMYK color model directly.

Put one way: you can't. And there wouldn't be much point in trying. Word
works strictly in RGB. Even if you could bring in a CMYK JPG, it'd get
converted into RGB internally. You may as well do the conversion in
Photoshop where you have some measure of control over it.

Put another: If you really need to get process color out of images you
place in Word, use CMYK EPS. The image should come back out, when printed
to PostScript printer drivers, as CMYK. Of course, everything else will be
RGB.
