About the Format of Date

I am working on a schedule which is long term I want just month and year in
my date format (in the start and finish column) what should I do for that.

Please advice me to solve this problem.

That is not a supported date format. You will need to add another
column representing an unused text field and then apply a formula to
parse and format the date as you require.
