Access file on server...?

Hi all,

I have a linked SQL-server table in Access that is used by a Cognos
PowerPlay cube.
If I link the table in Access directly on the server I have no problem with
password an username (SQL authentification).
But if I link the table against the same SQL-server on a different PC and
copy the file to the server then Access require username and password.

Is there a workaround or do I have to reinstall Access on the server?

Does the Access database ask for UserName and Password if you copy it from
the server to the PC?
