Access Outlook Via the Internet

Does anyone know how I could set up my PC to always be on
so that I can access my Outlook email via the internet if
I have a cable highspeed connection?

Thanks!

Are you saying that you want remote access to your computer over the
Internet? Can I have your bank account information as well? Oh, and your
mother's maiden name just to make it easier for me to use all of the
information I will get from your machine.

No, just kidding. If you need access to your Outlook mail, you must be
using an Exchange server and Outlook Web Access. This assumes that you are
in a corporate environment which I suspect you are not. However, your ISP
most likely has a webmail interface that will allow you to access mail that
has not been downloaded and removed from their server. Go to your ISPs
website and look in their FAQs for how to access their webmail.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the Swen
virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out reading.

Don't know any way to access Outlook, but are you pulling
your messages from an account you can access via the web?
If so, I would suggest setting Outlook to leave the
messages on the server for a few days after it picks them
up. Then, if you need to get to those messages again,
just log directly into that email account from wherever
you are. Of course that only works for a few days, so
they have to be relatively new emails. If that is useful,
you can change that setting in Accounts, Properties,
Advanced. A checkbox down at the bottom. Hope that helps!

I am not on a corporate LAN. Do you know if there is any
Third Party software out there that I could have my
Outlook out there on a web address that accesses my
computer, securly of course? :)

Thanks

There's www.gotomypc.com as one option, but it ain't free.

If you have Windows XP Pro, there's always Remote Desktop - a lot easier if
you
have a static IP, but can be done even if you don't (see the Dynamic DNS
service at www.dyndns.org). I hope you have a good hardware firewall
appliance in place if you go that route.
