I'm really stuck

I've wanted to use outlook for years but find it really difficult to
setup.

At the moment I'm sharing a home PC with other family members,
eventually this will turn into a wireless network.

Is there any way at all of setting up outlook (I've got 2002 on Windows
ME) so that each of us has an individual account but that points to the
same domain but different user names?

I.e.

(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)

If not is there any server that can be purchased that can deal with
this.

Be greatful for any help or a website that explains it.

If you want to store your mail separated from eachother it is better to
create an extra mail profile. You can do this in Control Panel-> Mail->
button Show Profiles-> Add...
Make sure you also configure Outlook to prompt you which profile you want to
open. You can do this after you pressed the Show Profiles button.

Are your email addresses truly different, or are they aliases in the form of
(e-mail address removed) ?

They are aliases.

Please tell me Outlook can cope with this ;-)

It's not a limitation of Outlook it's just the way aliases work. Basically
two addresses are two pointers to the same location. A send/receive will
collect all the mail from that location.

yes it can. It is a little complicated but I hope I can explain it OK.
Assume that you have two addresses such as (e-mail address removed) and
(e-mail address removed)

Set up either an Outlook profile or a User (assuming Windows XP or 2K) for
both Dad and Mum.
Go into Dad's profile or user, and in the Email account setup, and in the
user name for logon information, type "dad+username.isp.com" without the
quotes.
In Mum's profile or user, do the same but use "mum+username.isp.com"
You should then find that Dad will only get email addressed to
(e-mail address removed) and mum will only get email addresses to
(e-mail address removed). No need for rules or anything.
However, there is one downside to this, any mail addressed to "anything
other than mum or dad"@username.isp.com will not be downloaded. As most of
this will be spam , that is not too much of a problem. Just use something
like mailwasher once a month or so to clear it out.

This process can be used for any number of aliases, and certainly works very
well. I used it for years until I got my own domain name.
