Actual and Estimated dates

When i create a project plan in microsoft project I have columns for
estimated start date ,estimated end date, actual start date and actual
end date. Now if i make changes to the actual start date then it
automatically makes those changes in the previously estimated date too
which shouldnt happen ideally. For example if the estimated start date
for the project is 01/01/07 and then if i enter the actual start date
as 01/02/07 then it updates the estimated date to be equal to the
actual date that is 01/02/07. Can some one please help on this asap?
Thanks a bunch

This is expected behavior. Use baselines to store original Dates, Work etc.
To save a baseline: Tools, Tracking, Save Baseline. Note that once your
baseline is set the tracking Gantt Chart shows where you are now compared to
where you said you would be.
