Add text only to a picture placed on Word document.

I can create a text box then place WordArt text inside the box but I want get
rid of the text box and leave the WordArt colored lettering only so it looks
as if it is placed on the picture. Using Office 2003

Select the WordArt object and Copy. Paste it outside the text box and delete
the text box. Then select the WordArt object and change the wrapping to In
Front of Text.
