Adding Bullets in middle of line

How do I start a bulleted list after hitting tab or indent? I want a word flush on the left, and then want to tab in and start a bulleted list, starting on the same line. When I click to add the bulleted list, the bullet in the first line jumps BEFORE the word I want to remain on the left side (this is when creating a resume, so I want a date on the left, and then tab in to a bulleted list).

One Option: Create a 2-column table for your list with the "left topic"
content in the 1st column & the bulleted list in the 2nd. Format the table
for No Border if you don't want he structure to be visible.

Another option: key in a bullet manually: Option-8.
