Adding Furigana to Japanese Characters

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I am new to using word on a Mac and I can't find how to open the ruby text box to add furigana over Japanese characters. The help said to go to the phonetic guide on the format menu but I don't see a phonetic guide option. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

You must use the Microsoft Language Register (in the Additional Tools folder) to liberate that feature.

Thank you for your response. That being said I don't see an additional tools folder anywhere. I am using Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Student Edition. Any further suggestions?

If the Language Register is not included in your edition of Office, I think you may be out of luck. I think OpenOffice can do it.
