Address book migration

I am doing a migration from Entourage to Mail.
How do I export my address book to Mail app?

Exporting it doesn't work. I can only import folders and mails from Mail app
but not addresses

Ahmad.

And maybe you can convince me why I should stay with Entourage?
And why Mail should be avoided?

It may be helpful with my decision making.

Have you tried DRAG-n-DROP from one to the other?

I found that I can DRAG and DROP from Apple's MAIL to ENTOURAGE X... I would
imagine you could go the other way.

Just open up both Address books... And try dragging a few at a time.

Apple's mail doesn't have a JUNK MAIL FILTER... ((That I know of...)) Or
all the EXTENDED Apple Scripts available for it to add the extended
functions like Entourage X does. Also, the community boards online at APPLE
for MAIL isn't anywhere as helpful as here on the
microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage list.

Is that enough reason?

Unfortunately that won't do it quite right. I've done this as well, and
it's good if one only uses a few fields, but some of the information can end
up in the wrong field using this method. Much safer would be to use Paul's
scripts.

Yes it does, in Mail -> Junk Mail. However, I understand that SpamSieve
Or
all the EXTENDED Apple Scripts available for it to add the extended
functions like Entourage X does.

Mail does support AppleScripts, but because it's a much newer program there
haven't been as many written yet. Also, I understand from those who are
more knowledgeable about this that Entourage's AppleScript implementation is
much better than that of Mail, allowing the programmers to do more.

True. :)

Mickey is referring to "Sync Entourage-Address Book", available (shareware)
from

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

It will do a complete import - all fields, and can keep the two in sync
thereafter.
