Adjusting the dates in the Project

Hi,

I created a project file and saved as a template last month so that I can
use it later. Now, when I tried plugging in the details of a new project in
the template created, I discovered that I have to change the start date and
finish date for all the tasks by clicking the 'Adjust Dates' button on the
'Analysis' toolbar. But, the problem is I don't have that 'Analysis tool'
option in my toolbar. I am using Project Professional 2003 I don't know where
to get that Analysis tool option. Any suggestions!! I appreciate your efforts
in advance.

Thanks

Go into View>Toolbars and select the Analysis toolbar. You'll then see the
Adjust Dates on the left.
Hope this helps,
Tom

KT,
I use templates for all our projects and have never needed to access the
button you are asking about.
I would suggest you check the way you saved the project as a template. You
should have gotten a dialog box that asked for you to check the fields you do
NOT want saved. Two of those would have been "Baseline Values" and "Actual
Values." If you did not check those, you would be saving that information
from one project to the next, requiring you to change the start/finish dates
on the individual tasks. If you check that, those values are not saved,
thereby allowing them to change as soon as you begin a new project and enter
either a new Start or Finish date in the Project Information Box. (Depends on
which you schedule from.) Only time you should need to change anything at the
task level is if your duration or resources are different than the
template's.

Hi Julies,

Sorry for the delayed reply....I tried the steps that was given in the FAQ
46. But my bad luck nothing worked out. So, I guess I have to reinstall the
software.

Thanks anyways
