Hi,
On April 1, I setup an administrative project using the MS enterprise admin
template. The project will be used to track non-project and non-working time
for 2005. I added several tasks, made sure the task type was fixed duration,
effort driven field was unchecked and the assigned units for each resource
was at 100%(??). I asigned the tasks to the respective resources and
published the plan. The resources can see all tasks that have been assigned
to them. Updating the plans with the actuals have been done several times
over the last couple of weeks. Everything went well - until now.
Problems:
1. The remaining work column in PWA shows values. The project plan for the
respective tasks show 0 in the remaining work and Actual work equals Work.
The duration has been changed to accommodate the actuals entered. Is this
correct or do I have to synchronize the project plan with PWA? I made sure
that all the updates in PWA have been done, but the problem still exists.
2. Some resources receive the message in the home page of PWA "Your
timesheet has not been submitted for the period 4/4/2005 - 4/10/2005. This is
incorrect. I verified the actuals. They have been entered, submitted and the
plan was updated. The resources update only the tasks that must be updated
for the reporting period, thus leaving several tasks unchanged. Could this be
the cause of the problem? Do the resources have to enter 0 in those tasks
that are not worked on?
3. Was leaving the assignment units at 100% for each resource and the
estimate field checked for the task in the Task Information a mistake? If
this is the cause of the problem(s), what would be the best way to resolve
the problems? Can I simply reduce the units to 0% also for those tasks that
have actuals?
4. Finally - for those tasks that actuals have not been entered thus far,
the resources receive the message "This task was scheduled to finish on
xx/xx/xx, but it has not yet been completed". The message is self
explanatory, but is there a way to turn this message off for admin projects?
Thx for you help
ciao
