Admin tasks (using the Admin template)

We created an admin project for leave and admin type tasks. We use the
default template settings (fixed duration, 1 day, work=0, and assign
resources at 100%, not effort driven).

When a resource charges time to one of the tasks every week (via Project
Server PWA), MS Project extends the duration of the task from one day to the
extent of time actually charged. This is understandable, but the Project
Manager recieves a warning message each time this happens. The error messages
can be overwhelming.

Is there anything we can do to eliminate these types of messages on specific
projects? Thanks for any ideas.

In the future, please address your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
you need to set the Duration of each admin task initally to a value greater
than 1 day. For example, you might set the Duration of each task to 90 days
or 180 days or something like that. This will eliminate most of the
annoying warning messages. Hope this helps.
