Advanced Animation

I would like all the text from one text box to display for a short time, and
then fall into a heap 'on the floor'. Is there an animation setting that
will do this?

Many thanks, this was helpful (I can't work out how to rate a post, sorry).
Although the site has some really great animations, it doesn't give me what I
need. Thanks anyway.

Michelle,

there is an exit animation 'flip' which makes characters 'fall', but they
disappear at the end. So that's not exactly what you ask for.

If you are using one of the two newer versions of PowerPoint (2002 or 2003),
it is possible - but as there is no such feature built into PowerPoint, you
have to create the effect yourself.

Build your text with many text boxes which contain only one character each
(maybe one word each). Use custom animation paths to make these text boxes
move to the location of the 'heap'. Maybe you'll have to add a rotation or
a similar effect to make it look realistic.

Kind regards,
Ute

Thanks, ute. I actually modified an animation I found yesterday, and did
pretty much what you suggested. By typing the word 'organisation' in
individual text boxes, dropping the letters in one at a time down a 'bounce'
path, I was able to position them randomly at the bottom, and turned just two
of the letters for effect.

Result was chaos (exactly the effect I was after).
