After Office SP# update I cannot read files

I can not open up any excel/word files after I installed Office XP SP3
update. This is a problem. Any ideas

Check your security in Tools, Options it may be set to High. At best with SP3
you will likely be forced to select "Enable" or "Disable" Macros (Medium
Security)each time you open a document. This may help I am not an expert;
however, I am looking at a problem with SP3 that is very similar.
