Amendments in a WORD document

Can you please URGENTLY let me know whether the amendments made in a
document can be traced. We send documents to clients and don't want them to
be able to see revisions we made earlier. Is there someway someone can
"hack" into a document to find out what has been added or deleted during the
life of a document?
