API for Bluetooth

Can someone tell me how to convert a 802.11 signal to bluetooth? I know one
way where in network conections we can build one brdige connection from wifi
to bluetooth. But is there a way through which I can know what bluetooth
devices are attached to the current computer, like their IDs or something?
