assign resources and calendar

I setup a project using a calendar I created with the our non-working days
and I set the project to plan from project start date. I created my tasks
and assign the time that it takes to complete the tasks. I link the tasks
because each is dependent on the other finishing. When I do it this way my
project plans out using my calendar, but when I add resources the project
completion time changes so I adjust it back to my original time and then
project seems to quit looking at my calendar because now I have tasks
starting and ending on non-working days.

So I try assigning the resources and time duration first and then link the
tasks and again it doesn't look at my calendar. So, what am I doing wrong
with resources?

If you created a new base calendar then in the Resource Sheet, set all
resources to use your new calendar rather than the Standard calendar. Use
the calendar column.

You will need to reset any tasks with dates to start as soon as possible.
