Assigning more than 10 resources to a task

Hello,

I am just learning Project for the first time and was working with an
example project where I wanted to assign more than ten resoures at one time
to this one task. MS Project would let me assign 10 resources without a
problem, but it would not let me assign more than 10 at once. Of course, I
can go back after the first assignment of ten resources and assign more, but
I can't assign greater than ten all at once. So my question is "How can I
assign more than 10 resources to a task at one time?

Thanks

Hi Ken,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The managerial problems of havng many resources assigned to one task
increase greatly the more you assign. If you can, keep to one resource per
task. However, the way round this is to group resources. For example, if
you have 15 carpenters, just create carpenters as a resource, and then tell
Project hown many of the 15 you want to assign to the task. Be aware that
if your use such a grouping, you cannot then assign Joe or Fred who are in
the carpenters' group, to other tasks by name. It's all or by named
individuals.
